Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued its guidance for the administration of an additional $652 million award to the state of Texas to help with the long-term recovery following Hurricane Harvey. The additional award brings the total award of Community Development Block Grant disaster recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to the state of Texas to $5.734 billion. HUD approves GLO amendment awarding additional $8 million in funds for flood buyouts in Harris County

Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved an amendment awarding $8 million in additional Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds for a buyout program in Harris County for repeatedly flooded homes. The funds are being awarded to Harris County from HUD's first allocation $57.8 million in CDBG-DR funds after Hurricane Harvey.
