AUSTIN — Up to $1.8 million in coastal grants are available and staff members from the General Land Office are touring the Texas coast explaining how to apply.
Find out how to get a local project funded by attending one of five grant workshops. The meetings will be May 14 in Port Isabel, May 20 in Port Lavaca, May 21 in Corpus Christi, May 28 in Beaumont and May 29 in Galveston.
Coastal Management Program grants help conserve critical habitat, improve beach and bay public access, improve local water quality and more. Cities, counties, colleges and non-profit organizations are eligible for the grants. Participants must be able to pay 40 percent of a grant projects total cost.
