PRESS RELEASE — Dec 14, 2018

ABELINE — Today, Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bushannounced that the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene will host its annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony on December 15th at 11:00 a.m. Each December, National Wreaths Across America Day serves to honor and remember our fallen soldiers and the sacrifice that they have made for our great nation. Upon placing a wreath on a Veterans grave, volunteers are encouraged to speak the Veterans name aloud, thank the service member for their sacrifice, and reflect on the individual’s life.

“The members of the Armed Forces wake up every morning and put on their uniform to serve and protect the rest of us,” said Chairman George P. Bush. “They do this without question, hesitation or doubt. It is only fitting that we honor their courage and sacrifice, not only during the holiday season but each and every day.  I urge our community to join together and help us honor our American heroes dedication to the United States of America by laying a wreath on the grave markers at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene on December 15th.”
