KILLEEN — Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. SHARP, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for SP4 Whittington. Born on February 5, 1940, Mr. Jack Parker Whittington served in the United States Army from February 16, 1960 to August 5, 1963. SP4 Jack Whittington received a Good Conduct Medal and a Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle and Pistol).

Mr. Whittington is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. Please help us spread the word and ensure that our United States Army Veteran is not buried alone. Members of the Central Texas community are encouraged to attend.

Whittington will receive full military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the On-Site Representative of the Veterans Land Board will accept the United States flag on Whittington's behalf.

The Texas Veterans Land Board works with the local community and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that NO Veteran is EVER left behind.
