Texas VFW is an organization of more than 80,000 Texans who have served overseas in war zones or areas demanding arduous duty, including those in Afghanistan and Iraq. The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.
