Unaccompanied Veteran Burial to be held at the Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery

MISSION, TX — November 19th, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for Private Frist Class Ronald Barker, a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Private First Class Barker served in the Marine Corps from January 11th, 1954, to January 11th, 1957.



Rio Grande Valley Cemetery staff has coordinated with the cemetery's Honor Guard to ensure that Private First Class Barker will receive full military honors. If no next-of-kin presents themselves at the ceremony, the On-Site Representative of the Veterans Land Board will accept the United States flag on Private First Class Barker’s behalf.

The Veterans Land Board works with the local community and fellow veterans support groups to ensure that NO Veteran is ever left behind after they pass away. The Rio Grande community is encouraged to attend.
