Vessel Turn-In Program to make waves in Brazoria County

AUSTIN - The Texas General Land Office (GLO) are partnering with Brazoria County officials, the Brazoria County Fire Fighters Association (BCFFA) and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to offer local coastal Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP) free of charge. Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. Commissioner George P. Bush reports the Veterans Land Board achieves highest loan production level in more than a decade

Texas General Land Office Commissioner and Chairman of the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) George P. Bush is pleased to announce that during Fiscal Year 2016 the VLB loan program achieved its highest level of production in more than a decade. During the year, the VLB almost doubled their loan sales from FY 2015 with more than $800 million in VLB-financed low-interest housing, home improvement and land loans. Read More

Bastrop County leaders and Texas GLO cut ribbon on new communications tower

In May, Texas General Land Office (GLO) Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) program reallocated $200,000 from the state administration budget to be used for essential infrastructure projects and assist Bastrop County as it works to recover from the 2011 wildfires.
