LAND OFFICE ANNOUNCES $10.6 MILLION IN GRANTS FOR COASTAL PROTECTION PROJECTS

Today, the Texas General Land Office announced 30 projects will receive funding under the Texas Coastal Management Program (CMP) Grant Cycle 26. Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the locations of regional Homeowner Assistance and Reimbursement Programs (HARP) offices in advance of the application release. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) allocated $137.8 million of Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for repair or reconstruction of owner-occupied single-family homes and reimbursement up to $50,000 for certain out-of-pocket expenses incurred for reconstruction, rehabilitation, or mitigation. VOLUNTEERS COLLECT MORE THAN 23,000 POUNDS OF TRASH AT THE ADOPT-A-BEACH 2021 COASTWIDE SPRING CLEANUP

Volunteers from all over Texas participated in the Adopt-A-Beach 2021 Coastwide Spring Cleanup that took place on April 17, 2021. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) approved $1,173,343 in Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery funds for the City of Taylor Landing to make street improvements, including reconstructing the driving surface, applying asphalt, striping streets, and repairing roadside ditches.
