Cmr. George P. Bush announces HUD issuance of federal rules for 2018 and 2019 disaster funding

Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released mandatory rules for the use of more than $285 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to assist in long-term recovery efforts following severe flooding in 2018 and 2019 in South Texas and the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Tropical Storm Imelda in Southeast Texas. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) approved $17,098,377 in Hurricane Harvey funds for San Jacinto and Goliad Counties, and the cities of Vidor and Nome, to conduct buyout programs for homes located in a floodplain or repetitive flood areas. UNACCOMPANIED VETERAN BURIAL TO BE HELD AT CENTRAL TEXAS STATE VETERANS CEMETERY

Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. SHARP, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for BUCN Mark Lancaster. Born on August 3, 1955, Mr. Lancaster served in the United States Navy from January 10, 1974 to May 10, 1976. He received the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Lancaster is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. Read More
