Bush announced that on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. SHARP, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for Ronald G. Sullivan. Born on August 12, 1943, Mr. Sullivan served in the United States Navy from January 23, 1964 to May 1, 1964. Mr. Sullivan is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is announcing details for three regional public hearings to seek input on the use of $4,297,189,00 in funding for mitigation projects in the areas affected by Hurricane Harvey as well as 2015 and 2016 Floods. UPCOMING ARANSAS COUNTY VESSEL TURN-IN PROGRAM
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is partnering with Aransas County and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) and Keep Aransas County Beautiful (KACB) to offer Aransas County Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP) free of charge.Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. Last weekend, two of our Texas State Veterans Home residents embarked on a Trip of a Lifetime through Honor Flight Austin with a flight to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor.
