Texas General Land Office Awards $6 Million for Projects Across Seven Coastal Counties

Join Us For A World War II KIA/MIA Burial At The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery
On Monday, April 10th at 2:00 p.m., the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery will conduct a World War II KIA/MIA Burial for U.S. Army Air Forces Second Lieutenant (2LT) Wayne Lou Dyer.Born on September 28, 1921, 2LT Dyer entered into service during World War II, and was assigned to the 569th Bombardment Squadron, 390th Bombardment Group (Heavy), 13th Bombardment Wing, 3rd Air Division, and 8th Air Force. He was shot down by enemy fighters during a large bombing mission near Leipzig, Germany in May 1944. Read More

Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham M.D. encouraged all friends of Texas beaches to join her and participate in the 2023 Adopt-A-Beach Coastwide Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 22nd. Today the Texas General Land Office (GLO) announced the application for the Homeowner Assistance and Reimbursement Programs (HARP) will close at 5 p.m. on April 28, 2023. Join Us For An Unaccompanied Veteran Burial At The Texas State Veterans Cemetery At Abilene
On Friday, March 31st at 11:00 a.m. sharp, the Texas State Veterans Cemetery At Abilene will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran Burial for U.S. Army Private Earnest McCloud. Born on September 20, 1945, Private McCloud served from July 1967 to May 1969. Private McCloud received the Purple Heart Medal with three Oak Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Private McCloud is not expected to have any next-of-kin attend his burial. Read More
