General Land Office Wraps Up Vessel Turn-In Program in Port Isabel
The Texas General Land Office’s (GLO) Oil Spill Prevention and Response team wrapped up its first Port Isabel Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP) which was held January 26-29. During this four-day event, the GLO, the City of Port Isabel, and several partner agencies collected 26 vessels measuring 399.8 feet in total. Veterans Land Board Earns Top Honors for Communications and Marketing Efforts
The Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB), its marketing partner Proscalar, and supporting video production firm, 1820 Productions, have received international recognition for their digital marketing campaigns created to raise awareness for the benefits Texas Veterans have earned and may be eligible to receive. The VLB and Proscalar won five Platinum Awards for their submissions to the MarCom 2021 international competition—the highest mark bestowed by Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). General Land Office, Texas Public Policy Foundation Sue Biden Administration Over Latest Attack on Texas Public Lands
Today, the General Land Office (GLO) and the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) announced a federal lawsuit against the Biden Administration. The lawsuit claims the U.S. Dept. of Interior and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) have failed to abide by a Fifth Circuit order by imposing the wrong legal standard in considering the delisting of the golden-cheeked warbler from the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Commissioner Bush Announces New Palisade Exhibit at the Alamo
Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush helped unveil the Alamo’s newest addition, the Palisade Exhibit. The exhibit, located in Alamo Plaza, replicates the Alamo’s original wooden fortification, where the brave Defenders found protection from a barrage of musket and cannon fire during the siege. The original palisade was constructed in an area of the battleground where there were no stone or adobe walls. Read More

Today, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) kicked off the 2022 “Treasures of the Texas Coast Children’s Art Contest” and is now accepting entries. Students (public, private and homeschool) in grades K-6 are encouraged to submit their own masterpieces.
