Cmr. Bush announces release of 2019 Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan
Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the release of the 2019 Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan, which addresses natural and man-made coastal environments. This Resiliency Plan also recommends 123 projects compiled by the Texas General Land Office coastal team with input from a Technical Advisory Committee to mitigate issues that negatively impact our coastal communities. “It is crucial that the Texas coast is resilient for the sake of our ecosystems, communities and state” said Commissioner Bush. 100th Unaccompanied Veteran burial to be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery
Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Tuesday, March 12th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. SHARP, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for Major Lee Shotwell Jr., a United States Army Veteran.Shotwell is not expected to have anyone attend his funeral, as no next-of-kin could be contacted. Texas State Veterans Home Visits Berkner High School Junior ROTC Group Service Learning Project
On February 15, 2019 the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home located in Bonham, Texas had the opportunity to attend the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps service learning project at Berkner High School.The Berkner High School Junior ROTC group invited our Veteran residents of Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home to enjoy a presentation of their service learning project. Cadets of Berkner High School JROTC provided guided tours of the Military Heritage Collection of North Texas as well as a picnic style lunch for the veterans. Read More
