Today, Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D. introduced the next series installment highlighting the VLB's Voices of Veterans oral history program. At only 13, he had the goal of becoming a prestigious Naval Officer in a white uniform. After finishing basic training, he was assigned to the USS Philadelphia. He worked hard on the ship.
