VLB CHAIRMAN GEORGE P. BUSH PROVIDES LOAN PENALTY RELIEF FOR VETERANS DURING COVID-19 OUTBREAK
Today, Texas Land Commissioner and Chairman of the Veterans Land Board George P Bush announced that in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) will provide temporary relief to Veterans with VLB loans. The VLB recognizes the unique circumstances induced by COVID-19 and has taken measures to ease the burden of loan and housing penalties on the Veteran community.

Bush asked the community for help in ensuring WWII and Korean War Veteran William (Bud) McDearman Jr. receives 100 birthday wishes for his centennial birthday.Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and an abundance of caution for our Texas Veterans, Commissioner Bush is asking Texans to send virtual birthday wishes to this Navy and Air Force Veteran rather than cards. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced that COVID-19 can spread through and live on surfaces for extended amounts of time.

Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. SHARP, the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for SN Donald Lee Reule. Born on April 11, 1933, Mr. Reule served in the United States Navy from April 20, 1952 to February 22, 1954. He has received the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Korean Service Medal. Mr. Reule is not expected to have anyone attend his burial.

This year, a very special couple have been selected to be crowned 'King and Queen.' It's not every day that two people celebrate 74 years of marriage. World War II Veteran, Mr. John Bremer and his wife Glenna Bremer will be crowned Valentine's 'King and Queen' in recognition of their extraordinary number of years together.
