FLORESVILLE — On Wednesday, August 7, the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home will host a Purple Heart Day Ceremony honoring the brave men and women who have been wounded in combat fighting for our nation and freedom. Residents, family members, staff and guests will join together for a formal ceremony followed by a reception.

State of Texas Purple Heart Auxiliary President, Joyce Dalton will lead the ceremony in prayer and the pledge of allegiance and Sr. Vice Commander of the Alamo Chapter 1836 and Adjutant for the State of Texas Purple Heart Organization, Bill Crumlett will deliver keynote remarks for the event. Purple Heart Recipients will share their stories and all Texas State Veteran Home recipients will be recognized with a certificate.

The public and press are invited to attend the ceremony honoring Purple Heart Recipients. Reception to follow ceremony. 
Media is welcome to attend the ceremony and we ask that you RSVP in order to facilitate your attendance.
