HOW TO APPLY

All General Land Office (GLO) jobs are posted on the GLO Jobs Page within CAPPS Recruit. CAPPS Recruit is a State-managed job-posting system that allows applicants to easily apply for job openings at the GLO. Below are general instructions on how to both create an account in CAPPS Recruit and submit an application to the GLO through the CAPPS Recruit system. Note: the account creation and job submission processes may include some minor steps not identified below.

  1. Visit the GLO Jobs Page within CAPPS Recruit.
  2. Select a posting you wish to apply for and click the Apply Online
  3. If you do not yet have a CAPPS Recruit account, click the New User button and proceed with account creation. Otherwise, enter your credentials and click 
  4. Complete each portion of the guided application process, using the Save and Continuebutton to proceed through each section.
  5. If you need to save your application to complete it later, click the Save as Draft
  6. Once each section has been completed, you will be given the ability to submit your application, which will then send it to the GLO.

The information you enter as you complete your first application through CAPPS Recruit (e.g., education and work history) is retained by the system and available for use in future job application submissions.

In addition, CAPPS Recruit allows you to attach a résumé to your completed job submissions. This process is outlined in the steps below.

  1. Visit the GLO Jobs Page.
  2. Sign in using the Sign In link at the top right of the page.
  3. Click the My Jobpage tab at the top left of the page.
  4. Click the View/Edit Submission link below the completed submission entry.
  5. Navigate to the File Attachments portion of the submission by clicking on its step at the top of the page. This page allows you to upload a file and subsequently designate it as your résumé.

TRAINING

The GLO encourages employee development through a training program designed to enhance employees' knowledge, skills, and abilities, promote productivity and efficiency, and prepare employees for higher-level responsibility. With a variety of training topics and formats, GLO employees are given a wide range of training opportunities to help them improve their performance and meet their career goals. In addition, employees are also able to master their skills from a variety of industry experts and upskill their careers utilizing Linkedin Learning, an online educational platform that focuses on business and technology-related skills through expert-led courses.

A criminal conviction records check is required for applicants who are selected for a position.

If you are selected for interview, the hiring division will contact you to schedule an interview. Interviewed applicants will be required to undergo a criminal conviction check through a third-party background check service provider.
