KILLEEN — On Wednesday, May 3rd starting at 11:00 a.m. sharp, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery will conduct Unaccompanied Veteran Burials for U.S. Army Veteran Roy Garvin Mize Jr., U.S. Navy Veteran David Aaron Mitschelen, and U.S. Navy Veteran Jack Dewain Fay.

Born December 20, 1945, Private First Class (PFC) Roy Garvin Mize Jr. served May 1966 to July 1968. PFC Mize the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
 

 
Born May 31st 1947, Petty Officer Third Class (PO3) David Aaron Mitschelen served from June 1965 to June 1969. PO3 Mitschelen received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
 

Born on July 14, 1950, Hull Maintenance Technician Third Class (HT3) Jack Dewain Fay served from March 1969 to January 1973.  HT3 Fay received the National Defense Service Medal.


 
These honorable Veterans are not expected to have any next-of-kin attend their burials. Please help us spread the word and ensure that they are not buried alone. Members of the Killeen community are encouraged to attend.

The Veterans will receive military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burials, a Veterans Land Board Representative will accept the United States flag on their behalves. 

The Texas Veterans Land Board works with the local communities and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that NO Veteran is EVER left behind.
