On Friday, December 12, 2025 at 9:00 a.m., the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran Burial for Corporal (Cpl) Richard Joe Banks. Born on April 20, 1945, Cpl. Banks served in the United States Marine Corps from August 1963 to July 1967. Cpl. Banks received the Vietnam Service Medal (with bronze star); National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge during his service to our country.
