Project Description
This project nourished and restored ~17 miles of beach and dune ridge along the shoreline of the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge shoreline from High Island to Sea Rim State Park. This massive restoration project will utilize many types of restoration funds to implement one of the largest beach nourishment projects in the Gulf of Mexico. Approximately 3.4 million cubic yards of material will be hydraulically pumped from an offshore borrow area to complete beach nourishment. Five years of post-construction monitoring are required.
