Paul Parks attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 1955 as a 2nd Lieutenant. His first unit was the 44th Air Defense Artillery Missile Battalion at Fort Niagara, New York, where he served as a Battery Commander. In 1964 he came back to West Point to teach German for three years. He then served seven months in Vietnam and returned to West Point and taught German from 1969 to 1972. Colonel Parks then went to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where we remained until his retirement in 1979. He now resides at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home in El Paso, Texas.
