AUSTIN, Texas— Today, Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., released the following statement remembering our fallen heroes this Memorial Day:

"As Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office and Chairwoman of the Veterans Land Board, I am proud of the work we do every day to ensure Texas Veterans have access to the benefits they have earned through their service to our country," said Commissioner Buckingham. "While we do this work, we are reminded of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation. Please join me on this day of remembrance as we honor those who sacrificed everything.
