Biographical Note
On March 16, 1917 the Texas Legislature passed SB 357 (Acts 1917, 35th R.S.,ch. 83, General Laws of Texas) allowing for the prospecting for and the development of the minerals in the public lands of Texas. The Register recorded the applications made to lease land only.

The Register provides information about the applications made and links to the application on file at the General Land Office. The Register is organized by county and listed in chronological order. Disposition of the application is shown. There are an unknown number of volumes to this series, however, only Volume 3 is accounted for.
