2019 Update to BEG Shoreline Change

Project Description

Coastal natural resources code dictates the CEPRA Program must survey the Texas coast to assess historical rates of shoreline change. Shoreline change rates are used to identify areas that qualify for CEPRA funding, are used to develop development setback guidelines, and can monitor the programs successes in areas of implemented restoration. This project with the Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin (Bureau) updated shoreline change rates and determined beach and dune volume and elevation relationships.
