Surfside Beach- Beach Nourishment

Project Description

The purpose of the project was to nourish the beach with sand in order to increase the width of the public beach for recreational use. One mile of beach was nourished, and natural dunes adjacent to the jetties on the pedestrian beach were restored. Sand from an upland source was trucked to the site for the project. Construction was completed in August 2001.
