Isla Del Sol Marsh Restoration Construction Project

Project Description

The project will construct 5.4 acres of marsh along the shoreline of West Galveston Bay using beneficial use of dredged material from the Isla Del Sol channel. Prior to placement of material, 1,100 linear feet of temporary berms (1.55acres) will be mechanically constructed using approximately 9,300 CY of sandy material from within the placement site that will help contain material during placement and provide temporary protection from wind and wave impacts while the marsh undergoes initial settlement and growth after construction.
