The results are in! The 30th Annual Adopt-A-Beach Children’s Art Contest had more than 1,300 entries and judges had the difficult task of narrowing it down to 40 winners, ten in each of the following grade categories: K-2, 3rd-4th, 5th, and 6th.

Of the 40 overall winners, 5th grader Michael Li of Katy was selected as the Grand Prize winner. Michael’s detailed artwork features an orange puffer fish sporting a cowboy hat and Texas pride! The grand prize runner up is Chelsea Lin from Katy with her colorful spiral seashell.

All winning artwork will appear together in the 2027 Adopt-A-Beach calendar, which will be distributed throughout the state. This year's grand prize winner will receive one 6-8-night Caribbean cruise for two from Royal Caribbean International and a family level annual pass to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

This year, the second cruise donated by Royal Caribbean was awarded to a teacher in a random drawing. The teachers entered into the drawing submitted five or more qualifying art entries. For 2026 there were 54 teachers that submitted qualifying entries and Sara Roberts from Hico Elementary in Hico was this year’s winner! She will receive one 6-8-night Caribbean cruise for two from Royal Caribbean International along with a gift from Adopt-A-Beach.

All 40 student winners will receive two tickets to Schlitterbahn, a gift card to an arts and crafts store, a gift from Adopt-A-Beach, a certificate of recognition from the Texas General Land Office and copies of the 2027 calendar displaying their winning artwork.

Students receiving an Honorable Mention designation will receive a certificate of appreciation from the Texas General Land Office and a gift from Texas Adopt-A-Beach. The Grand Prize Runner-Up will receive an additional prize from Adopt-A-Beach. All prize packages will be mailed out in May.
