On Wednesday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. sharp, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran Burial for U.S. Navy Veteran Richard James Betti. Born on June 26, 1953, Mr. Betti served from August 1972 to May 1974. Mr. Betti received the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Betti is not expected to have any next-of-kin attend his burial. Please help us spread the word and ensure that this U.S. Navy Veteran is not buried alone. Members of the Killeen community are encouraged to attend.Mr.

Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. announced that more than 4,500 volunteers participated along with her during the 2023 Adopt-A-Beach Coastwide Spring Cleanup this past Saturday. During the one-day event, a total of 73,032 pounds of trash was removed from 22 unique sites that stretched all the way from Port Arthur to South Padre. “One of our greatest responsibilities is the stewardship of our coastal lands and the habitats and ecosystems they support, said Commissioner Buckingham.
